Recent Changes

Minimum Wage - July 2010

The minimum wage for the state of Nevada will change to $7.25 per hour for employees whom qualify for health benefits and $8.25 per hour for all other employees.

Minimum Wage - July 2009

Effective July 1, 2009, the minimum wage rate for employees of employers who provide qualified health insurance benefits is $6.55 per hour. Employers who do not provide qualified health insurance benefits must pay employees a minimum wage rate of $7.55 per hour.

Minimum Wage - July 2008

Employees who receive health benefits and earn less than $8.775 per hour and employees earning less than $10.275 per hour who do not receive health benefits must be paid overtime whenever they work more than eight hours in a 24-hour period. Also, minimum wage will increase from $5.30 per hour to $5.85 per hour for those employees who receive health benefits and from $6.33 per hour to $6.85 per hour for those employees that do not receive health benefits.
