Recent Changes
- Minimum Wage - June 2009
- New Mexico has added a subsection prohibiting discrimination against retaliation under the Enforcement section.
- Minimum Wage - January 2008
- The minimum wage is increasing to $6.50 per hour on January 1, 2008. The scheduled increase to $7.50 per hour on January 1, 2009 is reflected on the new poster, as well as a few new classifications that are NOT an employee, and an exemption from the overtime provisions of the Minimum Wage Act.
The minimum wage act has been amended to specify that the classification of “Employer” does not include “the United States, the state or any political subdivision of the state” for everything except the payment of the minimum wage (employees of the U.S., the state or political subdivision of the state are entitled to the minimum wage).
